Crispy edges and making a smash burger correctly is super nice and why it’s popular! But the thing served was a normal below average burger. However what was served has nothing to do with a smash burger. The burger - let me try to understand what the chef was thinking…… “Smash burger is so popular, let’s put a smash burger on the menu”. More bread crusting than fish, not crispy, looks like something you buy frozen. The place used to have amazing Fish and Chips - now the Fish and chips served is the opposite. The “fish of day” - nice, good taste, absolutely ok. Asking if everything was ok, surely not under staffed. think it’s a fair assumption to make, that there is a new chef. I knew the place was for sale last year, so curious to visit again this summer to see if this was still the wonderful place it used to be. This place is beautifully located and has given us many nice experiences over the years.
